Doing adult things...

This past weekend my hubby and I went to Home Depot…The most boring store there is.

We went there to buy some potters for our front porch so that my mother-in-law can make them look pretty. I do NOT garden. I'm the most useless and clueless person when it comes to perennials, trees and plants. So browsing through this store was torture for me…[imagine taking a guy through Michael Kors to help you pick out a handbag]…that kind of boring.

My husband on the other hand is the one with the green thumb. He could spend hours researching and deciding which plants should go where and what colours would match best. All the power to you hunny. Knock yourself out.

But when we got to the herbs and vegetable gardens, I got a 'tad' bit excited. Especially after seeing this teeny tiny little tomato so ripe and in its adolescence… how.cute.

I then started to think about how amazing it would be to grow my own vegetable garden. Our backyard is still unfenced and awaiting a pool so I can't plan the space yet, or even figure out if we will have the room, but I've definitely put it on my radar. I never thought I would care about growing things. Every flower or plant that I've been given in my life dies in a few days.

But perhaps this will be a new thing for me! I might actually have the time to invest in caring about these pretty things that I never once care about! I think making a change and doing something you're not comfortable with can be healthy, and gardening is something that I just didn't think about doing or caring about. This might just become my new hobby!! "So a perennial lasts all year right?!"

It's the "small" changes in life that make a difference…
